Marc Olivier is a seasoned finance professional with 11 years of Professional experience in Development Finance in Africa, promoting sustainable economic growth, regional value chains, employment, and inclusion. In his current capacity as Deputy Director and head of Financial Negotiations at the Debt Management Agency of Cameroon (CAA), he has structured, negotiated, and secured funds worth over USD 4 billion to finance high-impact development projects in the oïl&gas, energy, telecommunications, road, water, and health sectors in Cameroon. Through this experience, Marc has garnered skills in international negotiations and persuasion strategies in financial markets in China, India, USA, UK, France, Italy, and Spain, as well as multilateral agencies like the African Development Bank, the IMF, and the World Bank. He specializes in Export Credit Structured finance, Public-Private Partnerships, Islamic trade finance, Eurobond issuances, and EPC structuring. Furthermore, Marc Olivier has experience assessing, monitoring, and hedging financial risks affecting Cameroon's sovereign debt portfolio of about, with a focus on foreign exchange risks, interest rate risks, refinancing risks, and contingent liabilities of state-owned enterprises. Additionally, Marc Olivier has a passion for sports and the outdoors and is an avid mountaineer. In 2017, he co-founded a tourism company in Cameroon called Volcanic Spirit that offers guided tours of Mount Cameroon and other eco-touristic sites in Cameroon, thereby creating employment and a source of income for local communities.
