Deputy Finance Secretary
Laércio Marques is a public servant since 2015, working in the career of Federal Auditor specialized in Finance and Treasury Control at the Brazilian National Treasury. He is currently serving as the Deputy Secretary at the Secretariat of Finance in the State of Sergipe. Graduated in Mechanical Engineering, he began his professional career at Petrobras, the Brazilian oil and gas company, but later decided to change fields and specialize in public finances.
At the National Treasury, he held leadership roles in systems development, data analytics, and public accounting, gaining deep expertise in fiscal balance, intergovernmental transfers, subnational risk, and financial reporting. Since January 2023, he has led efforts to modernize fiscal administration in Sergipe, focusing on improving the business environment, increasing revenue, strengthening taxpayer services, and ensuring long-term fiscal sustainability.
He also serves as a member of Sergipe’s IT and Communications Council, where he advocates for the strategic use of digital solutions to enhance public service delivery and drive efficiency and productivity across the state government.
