Jose Jorge Rivero was appointed Senior Vice President (SVP), Corporate Banking, International Banking GBM, in October 2023. In this role, he is responsible for both the divisional role in LATAM, Caribbe, and Mexico’s Corporate Banking area. As part of his mandate, he optimizes business opportunities, manages risk, and maximizes shareholder value in Global Banking & Markets’ wholesale financial services across our markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. He is also responsible for enhancing product capabilities and driving growth in new business segments. Jose Jorge joined Scotiabank in 2002 and has held progressively senior roles, including SVP, Head Wholesale Banking in Chile, and Managing Director and Head, Corporate Banking in Mexico. He holds a Bachelor of Finance from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico and a Master of Business Administration degree from the TEC de Monterrey (EGADE) Business School. Additionally, he completed the Executive Management Program (EMP) at Duke University. Jose Jorge actively participates as a mentor for Inroads MX, an initiative to support underprivileged talent with opportunities and access to the workforce.
