Talbert Navia - Winston & Strawn
Partner & Chair, Latin America & Caribbean
Talbert Navia, a Harvard Law graduate, is a seasoned attorney with more than 35 years of experience in Argentina, having advised on many of the country’s most historic and award-winning transactions. Talbert has extensive experience representing U.S. and Latin America-based corporate, state-owned enterprises, and private equity clients in capital markets, financings, and mergers and acquisitions. In addition to his firm experience, Talbert was the founder and co-lead of investments, as well as interim CEO of portfolio companies, in two private equity firms primarily focusing on investments in the U.S. and Latin America.
Some of Talbert’s Argentina capital markets clients include YPF, IRSA, Cresud, Aconcagua Energía, Grupo Arcor, Camuzzi Gas Pampeana, Camuzzi Gas del Sur, Distribuidora de Gas del Centro, Distribuidora de Gas Pampeana, Distribuidora de Gas del Sur, Hidroeléctrica Piedra de Águila, Sociedad Comercial del Plata, Autopistas del Sol, Sideco Americana, Telefónica, Compañia General De Combustibles, Molinos Rio de la Plata, Mirgor, las Provincias de Chubut, Salta, Tucumán y Santiago del Estero, among other leading companies. In addition to Argentina, Talbert has recently led capital markets transactions in the region for leading issuers, including Grupo Energía Bogotá, Oben Group, Total Play Telecomunicaciones, Nueva Elektra del Milenio (NEM), Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile, Enel Generación Chile, Enel Green Power Chile, among others.
Talbert was nominated to the Hall of Fame by IFLR (2024-2025) and recognized by Latinvex as Latin America’s “Top 100 Lawyers” for Capital Markets and Corporate/M&A (2017–2025). Latin Lawyer recently recognized Talbert for his work in Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate M&A, ESG, and Private Equity.
