Corporate Financing & Banking Relations Director
Sofía graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), where she earned a degree in Business Engineering with a specialization in Finance. She is a Mexican corporate finance professional focused on value creation through structured and innovative financial solutions. She holds Level I and II of the international Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.
With over six years of experience at Grupo Bimbo, Sofía currently leads the Global Corporate Financing and Banking Relationships team. She heads a group of seven finance professionals responsible for the company’s global funding strategy, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources to support its growth. She leads the strategic management of a debt portfolio of nearly USD 8.5 billion, structuring instruments such as global and local bonds, committed syndicated facilities, and bilateral loans. Her team also designs and executes the company’s communication strategy with credit rating agencies and manages relationships with over 100 banks worldwide.
Beyond her technical work, Sofía is known for her strong commitment to gender equity in the financial sector. She actively participates in initiatives within and outside Grupo Bimbo that aim to level the playing field for women, fostering networks of support and female leadership.
