Michael Gotore - NamPower

Chief Officer, Finance, Treasury and Property Management

Michael serves as the Chief Financial Officer at the Namibia Power Corporation (Pty) Limited (NamPower). His previous professional career includes serving as the Finance Executive of TransNamib Holdings Limited (Namibia’s rail operator), Portfolio Manager - Alternative Investments for Old Mutual Investment Group Namibia, Audit Manager for Deloitte and Touché Namibia and Finance Director for a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Zimbabwe. He also worked as an Investment Banker in Zimbabwe. Between September 2022 and April 2024, Michael served on the European Union Commission’s High-Level Expert Group on scaling up sustainable finance in low- and middle-income countries. Michael possesses broad knowledge and experience in financial management, financial modelling, capital raising, due diligence reviews, corporate advisory services and risk management. He has a particular interest in capital programs and fund-raising, having advised several companies to raise funding on the debt capital markets in Zimbabwe. He has also participated in funding of infrastructure projects such as electricity generation and transmission projects, schools, housing, hospitals, as well as rolling stock in Namibia. Michael is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He holds a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Change Management from the Leeds Metropolitan University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Accounting and a Bachelor of Accounting honours degree both from the University of Zimbabwe.
