Luis Gonzalí Saucedo, CFA, is Vice President and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Franklin Templeton Mexico. He also participates as a Council Member of the same Operator. Within Franklin, he and his team are responsible for setting the strategy for public and private funds managed in the local office. Prior to his current role, Mr. Gonzalí was Investment Manager and Associate at Heyman and Associates, where he was responsible for local and global debt analysis and strategy. Mr. Gonzalí has a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics with honors from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM). He has the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has an Investment Advisor Certification granted by the Mexican Association of Stock Market Intermediaries (AMIB). He also has studies in Behavioral Finance from the University of Chicago. For 7 consecutive years (2019-2025), the short-term debt strategy that he manages was awarded by Morningstar as the best Short-Term Debt Fund in the Mexican market. He wrote a monthly comment for several years for the Emerging Market Institute at Cornell University on the Mexican economy, emerging market outlook, and debt strategy. He regularly collaborates with various media outlets (El Financiero, El Economista, Bloomberg, Reuters, El País, New York Times, El CEO, Milenio, Forbes, among others) with comments regarding the macroeconomic environment of the country and the debt markets. He publishes a monthly column in Funds Society and Milenio. Also, he is quite active on social media with comments and market views. He designed and taught a course on "Introduction to Behavioral Finance", one of the first courses on the matter in the Mexican Educational System. He has been a professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey and at the IAT Bursátil México. On the philanthropic front, he participates (and has participated), pro bono, in various non-profit institutions, in Treasury and Investment Committees, such as the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi), the Mexican Letters Foundation (FLM ), Mexican Council of International Affairs (Comexi) and Member of the Economic Commission of the Mexican Province of the Jesuits.
