Fahima Al Bastaki carries more than 26 years of experience within banking and capital markets. She has been the Chief Business & Market Development Officer at Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and prior to that was the Executive Vice President of Dubai Financial Market where she spent 17 years in multiple leading positions covering Listing, Disclosures, Corporate Communication, Public Relations, and Business Development. She has played a key role in the development of UAE's capital Markets regulations including the freezone regulation and UAE company law changes. Fahima had the privilege to be part of some pioneering initiatives that turned into main practices for regional. In her latest role she also supervised financial product development, Research and Data management as well. Fahima worked mainly with Global Financial Advisors, Law Firms and Investment Banking on building IPO pipeline , focusing on their business transformations strategies to actual journey of going public and listing. Fahima has pioneered leading the Annual Exchange International Investor Roadshows as early as 2007 which continue to be a flagship annual event to date to most exchanges in the region. Fahima is a Board Member of Dubai Women Establishment by Ruler’s decree since 2018. She is also a board member of Al Rostamani International Exchange. Fahima is a Certified Director by IOD and an Accredited Director with DDP from Hawkamah. She was a committee member of the Officials & Directors of GCC Stock Markets and Authorities under the GCC Secretariat General and served as a member of the Regulatory Enhancement Committee in the UAE’s Ministry of Economy. She is also a Certified Investor Relations Officer and was appointed as a Chairperson of the Middle East Investor Relations Association Dubai Chapter. Prior to UAE capital markets, Fahima spent six and a half years in HSBC. She holds a BBA and is a Certified Financial Advisor (CeFA) from the Chartered Institute of Bankers UK. Fahima had the privilege of being a Senior Quality Assessor in Dubai Quality Award and a jury member for the Young Economist Program of UAE. She is an active promoter for UAE businesses and the economy through her active industry events participation, Women and Youth career development mentorship.
